Welcome to Fresh Ink, atyp’s ongoing program to encourage and develop the skills of young playwrights across Australia.

What is the Fresh Ink program?
 

Fresh Ink begins here with comprehensive web resources providing detailed information on how to write for live performance. The resources include interviews with some of Australia’s leading playwrights.

Low-cost script assessment so you can get constructive feedback on your play from a professional writer. 

atyp will be accepting scripts by young writers aged
15 - 26 between 29 September and 10 October 2008. - DO NOT SEND BEFORE
 
Submit your script and you could attend the 2009 Fresh Ink camp plus be a contender to have your play fully produced by atyp in 2009.
 
Details:
  • Writers must be Australian residents and between the ages of 15 & 26
  • Scripts can be up to a maximum of 90 minutes in length
  • Writers may also submit work in development: scenes and a synopsis. Minimum length is 10 pages of script plus synopsis
  • Writers can submit up to three works
  • There will be a $20 fee to submit each script. For this you will receive a detailed assessment from an experienced professional writer.
  • There are no restrictions on theme, number of characters etc.
  • Works that have been published or have received a professional production are ineligible.
  • If you submitted a script in the round 1 assessments please send us your new draft or a completely new idea

Each year atyp conducts a National Writers' Camp with young people from across Australia.

The 2008 camp took place in  Adelaide in May as part of the ASSITEJ Festival.

Submit your script to atyp between 29 September and 3 October and you could go to the camp in 2009.

In November 2008  plays by  young writers will be given creative development productions within atyp’s performance season.
