Patrick first began acting 12 years ago with the Australian Youth Theatre has continued to do so since. Joining
atyp in 2006 he has completed 2 years of Shakespeare workshops and performed in 7 productions including 2011′s
Tell it Like it Isn’t in which he performed Tim Spencer’s monologue
Fun in a Cup. Patrick has also performed with Griffin Theatre Company and Sydney Theatre School and is currently represented by
Random Management. Patrick appears in
To Be,
Bat Eyes and the stage show
The One Sure Thing for
The Voices Project.
Favourite Actor: My favourite actor, hands down is Geoffrey Rush. He is absurdly talented, and has never given a performance that i have considered less than outstanding. For any non-believers out there; watch the film
Quills. He will blow your mind!
Favourite Actress: I think in this case Kate Winslet takes the cake. I have always enjoyed watching her work and i believe that there is no other Hollywood actress out there quite like her in screen presence and ability. Coincidentally she also stars in
Quills.
Favourite Plays:
The Laramie Projectby Moises Kaufman is my absolute favourite. The script and the true story that it tells are both extraordinary and tragic and i don’t think any other play has moved me quite like it. I am also a big fan of anything written by Debbie Tucker Green.
Favourite Films (in no particular order): 127 Hours,
Blood Diamond,
The Departed, Animal Kingdom, Kick Ass,
Hot Fuzz and
Quills(Notice a pattern here?)
Favourite TV Programs & Character:
Rome,
The Sopranos,
Weeds,
Breaking Bad,
Dexter,
Jeeves and Wooster, The Big Bang Theory. My favourite character would have to be
Titus Pullo from
Rome, a very complex character played brilliantly by Ray Stevenson.
Favourite line of dialogue: “
Want anything from the shop?” “Cornetto.” From Shaun of the Dead and
Hot Fuzz
Experience of being in TO BE: Working on
TO BE was a joy! I love performing Shakespeare and it has been wonderful to have the oppurtunity to do so on film, let alone perform the most recognisable words, i think, in the world. The crew have been professional, flexible and perhaps most significantly, punctual. Nothing is worse than waiting around on set for no reason and not once have i felt this was the case, which is definately a first for me. I cannot stress enough how much I have enjoyed the experience and I cannot wait to see the finished product.
Patrick is currently performing in atyp’s production of
ANIMAL FARM.
